What is ISO 50001 certification?

ISO 50001 can be used at any organisation or company, irrespective of its size or area of operation. It provides an overview of power consumption at the company and options of reducing the amount of consumed energy. Effective system and action plan of energy control policy is developed. To ensure that the system complies with the defined criteria of the standard, the company must constantly improve it. If energy costs constitute a material share of company costs, obtaining of an ISO 50001 certificate is the first step towards the reduction of these costs.

This certificate may be integrated in the current management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
